For the 14th year, Loewen, Ondaatje, McCutcheon was thrilled to host one of Bay Street’s most highly-anticipated parties. Held this year on October 18th at the Four Seasons Hotel in Toronto, the annual LOM Gala and Auction to benefit Multiple Sclerosis was again a resounding success, gathering Bay Street’s finest united in the common goal to end MS.

This year’s theme was Double 007 with all the attendant thrills and glamour of the Bond films. A sold-out Regency Ballroom hosted more than 400 guests resplendent in their best Bond regalia -- tuxedos and gowns. Most attendees commemorated their evening with photo op in the iconic Bond gun barrel.

This yearly event continues to celebrate the life and times of Bruce Grinton, an LOM trader whose battle with MS ended too soon, some 8 years ago.

Today, thanks to the generous support of corporations and small businesses alike, the cause is strongly supported through product donation and prizes for our silent and live auctions.

Some of the big-ticket auction items included: a stunning Persian carpet, a David Brown BBQ for 50, a Maserati for a weekend and a one of kind diamond and sapphire necklace. One could buy a "Bond" card for $25, $50, $100, $150 or $200 to win prizes worth up to $700. These included gift certificates to fabulous restaurants and resorts; fitness classes and personal training; relaxing spa days and much, much more.

Guest speaker for the evening was the Director of the Pediatric Multiple Sclerosis Clinic at The Hospital for Sick Children, University of Toronto, Dr. Brenda Banwell. Mr. Duncan McLean of Waddington's Auctioneers/ Appraisers was the Auctioneer for the lightning quick bidding round.
After a delicious dinner, guests thrilled to a Bond-esque performance by Toronto stage combat team Rapier Wit. A packed dance floor rocked to the stellar sounds of the Anita Rossi Band.
