Garrett Herman

Garrett joined LOM in 1990, following an extensive career with Merrill Lynch Canada. While at Merrill, he held a number of progressive positions including Manager of Institutional Equity and Research, Executive Vice President, and Chief Administrative Officer, as well as Member of the Board of Directors. He served as a Senior Vice President and Director for the Equity Division at Merrill, responsible for all Institutional Sales and Trading, Research, Syndication and Capital Commitment. Garrett was a member of the Consular Corps of Ontario. He is also a past President of the Canadian Sri Lanka Business Council and is the immediate past Honorary Consul for the People’s Republic of Bangladesh. Together with Jacques Lamarre of SNC Lavalin, Garrett co-chaired the ad-hoc committee on Private Public Partnership in Infrastructure, sponsored by Industry Canada. He also co-chaired the PPI conference entitled "Winning in Global Infrastructure Markets", sponsored by Industry Canada. He is a Corporate Director of Gedex Inc. Garrett is Chairman of the Annual LOM Gala and Auction to benefit the Multiple Sclerosis Society of Canada, an event now in its 15th year. He is a Director-at-Large of the Multiple Sclerosis Society of Canada and a Director of the MS Scientific Research Foundation. Garrett also holds positions as Chairman of the Charles Darwin Foundation of Canada and a Director of Grapes for Humanity.

Paul has been active in the Canadian investment industry since 1962 in research, institutional coverage, and corporate finance in Toronto and Montreal. He is also a founding partner of LOM Limited which was formed in 1970. In 1984 he was a founder and initial funder of the CMP Group. In 1986 he was a founder and personal funder of the Lakewood Capital Group. In addition, he is a past Director and Officer of the Montreal Society of Financial Analysts as well as a past Chairman of the Canadian Securities Institute. Paul has also served as Vice Chairman and Governor of the Montreal Exchange.

Priya brings a wealth of experience to the investment banking department of LOM both in public and private finance areas of the mining and technology sectors. Prior to joining LOM, Priya was an executive with Breakwater Resources Ltd., a publicly traded mining company. In Toronto, Priya has worked with GMP Securities Ltd. and Dundee Securities Corporation. In Palo Alto, California, she worked on venture capital funding of the technology sector. Her career with blue chip law firms both in Palo Alto, California and Toronto, Ontario focused on investment banking. In California, she worked as a Business and Technology Attorney with Brobeck, Phleger & Harrison LLP and in Toronto, she worked with Borden Ladner Gervais LLP when she was seconded to General Motors Corporation of Canada in Oshawa, Ontario. She is a member of the Ontario and California bars and is affiliated with various professional associations, including the American Bar Association, and she is a Charter member and member of the Board of Directors of The IndUS Entrepreneurs.
Recently, Priya participated in the Prime Minister Hon. Stephen Harper's India-Canada Trade Roundtable.

Shameze joins LOM with more than 11 years of experience in the healthcare investment industry. His roles have encompassed capital markets, finance, analysis and strategic planning. Prior to joining LOM, he was Senior Healthcare and Biotech Analyst at Jennings Capital, where he was well-known for introducing new names and new ideas to the Canadian capital markets. Previously he was a Biotechnology Analyst with Canaccord Capital and Sprott Securities. Before entering the brokerage industry, Shameze was Director of Finance and Secretary-Treasurer at Drug Royalty, a royalty-based healthcare financing company. Shameze has a Chartered Accountant designation, an MBA from McMaster University and a B.Sc. (Molecular Genetics and Molecular Biology) from the University of Toronto.

Dean gained his early experience as a Project Engineer in the mining and oil/gas industries with Alcoa Inc. and Fluor Canada. His finance experience was initiated at CIBC World Markets in the Equity Research group. After completing his MBA (Finance and Strategy) at the Schulich School of Business, he continued his career in the financial sector as a Research Associate with National Bank Financial and then Haywood Securities, following the technology and telecom services sectors. Dean is currently a Level 3 candidate in the CFA® program.
